JAPN 100

This course offers a comprehensive introduction to modern Japanese through the study of vocabulary, grammar and culture. The beginning of the course will be devoted to learning the Japanese writing systems (hiragana and katakana). 40 to 50 kanji (Chinese characters) will also be taught. Students will develop basic language skills in a socio-culturally functional way. Students will develop basic language skills in a socio-culturally functional way.<br/><strong>Note: </strong>JAPN 100 is an approved Culture and Creative course for Cap Core requirements. This is not a course for students with training or background in Japanese.<br/><strong>Reg Notes: </strong> Students must register for both a course lecture and a conversation.
