This course will continue to prepare preservice teachers to teach within an inclusive environment. The focus will emphasize various concepts within inclusive teaching practices. Response to Intervention, Universal Design for Learning, Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) and Differentiated Instruction will be examined. Communities of practice in an inclusive setting will also be explored with an emphasis on assistive/adaptive technology, collaboration, home /school relationships, and transition planning to support learning for all abilities Students will be encouraged to think socially, culturally, and pedagogically to promote a more equitable inclusive classroom. Active and engaged participation is required.
