This course provides an introduction to freshwater management concepts. The course focuses on environmental legislation applicable to drinking water and waste water quality management in the province of Nova Scotia (Acts, Regulations, policies, guidleines, standards and by-Laws). The course also addresses technical principles, processes and practices in domestic wastewater treatment and provides guidance in carrying out ambient water quality studies to detemine the impact of wastewater discharges on receiving watercourses.
