HIST 4756

Power

Lec 2 selected

SASS Senior Interdisciplinary Seminar: Power Power operates at every level of society, from the family to global economic arrangements: it operates in obvious ways (through coercion) as well as surreptitiously (through the building of consensus). In this course we will consider the operation of power in both theory in practice and we will do so in an interdisciplinary manner. There will be scope within this course to approach the topic from any disciplinary background. We will, in short, work together to investigate both visible and hidden forms of power in myriad places and at different levels.
