This course surveys plays written by indigenous authors who live and work in the geographic region designated as Canada, with a focus on late 20th and early 21st century work. Students will consider these plays in the context of indigenous cultures and history, as well as exploring critical debates around relevant issues such as casting, cultural representation, and theatrical phenomenology
