This course will explore significant historical themes or topics in the history of health and/or healthcare. Topics will vary but might include, e.g., concepts of health, illness, and the body in different historical periods; the rise of public health; the professionalization of healthcare providers; histories of nursing and the gendering of healthcare; etc.
