JOUR 3002

This course will give students a foundational understanding of the ecology and development of podcasting as an important storytelling and journalistic platform and the ways in which it continues to grow and evolve. Focusing on a basic interview style of podcasting, students will develop an episodic podcast plan and produce a sample episode. This will require students to learn about focus, pitching, interviewing, intro/extro writing, and the basics of recording and editing. Conducting podcast-style interviews with a clear narrative arc will be a key element of the course.
