Students will learn, in the classroom and in the field, the fundamentals of text-based reporting, from identifying a story idea through to research and writing. Beginning with a demonstrated awareness of the news, skills such as finding and pitching an original story idea, conducting an interview, applying the principles of clear writing and delivering a story with a narrative colour will be honed in this class.
