MFSC 5004

This course will provide students with a solid grounding in modern, single, and multispecies fisheries stock assessment, equipping them with the analytical tools to tackle fisheries assessment challenges across a range of small to large scale contexts. Students will be introduced to basic stock assessment concepts, biological and ecological fundamentals, and foundational quantitative models. By the end of the term, students should be able to fit simple stock assessments and understand population dynamics in a fisheries context.
