Course rules
- Attendance
- Attendance is mandatory; undocumented absences can cost attendance, participation, and discussion-question marks.
- Electronics
- Electronic devices are not allowed during seminars except for presentations or note-taking when leading.
- Discussion questions
- Post two questions anonymously to Brightspace by 5:00 pm the day before the seminar.
- Generative AI
- Do not use generative AI to prepare discussion questions, annotated bibliographies, or presentations.
- Short-term absence
- Only one Student Declaration of Absence form is allowed; contact the instructor by the missed component and submit the form within a week.
- Presentation slides
- Email presentation slides as a PDF one hour before presenting.
- Missed presentation
- A missed presentation must be delivered later; missing a co-led seminar also requires a three-page paper by term end.
- Cancelled seminars
- A seminar cancelled due to closure may be rescheduled for Dec 7.
