MH, Subst Use & Behavioural Ad

Lec 01 selected

This course examines the intersections of mental health, substance use, and addictive behaviours from a social work perspective. Students will explore both substance-related addictions (such as alcohol and drugs) and behavioural addictions (including gambling, pornography, and digital media use), with attention to how these issues are shaped by social context, stigma, and structural inequalities. Emphasis will be placed on developing critical understanding, reflective practice, and approaches to supporting individuals, families, and communities impacted by addictions and mental health challenges.
