This course facilitates the exploration of the professional self-concept of the student as a psychiatric nurse. It explores the role and practice of psychiatric nursing within historical, developmental, and contemporary mental healthcare contexts. Students will analyze similarities and differences in nursing models and concepts and apply them to psychiatric nursing practice.
