This course focuses on developing advanced communication skills for working with clients experiencing complex mental health challenges. Students will consolidate previously learned therapeutic communication skills with a focus on group process, leadership, and interprofessional collaboration. Students will apply various therapeutic modalities and conduct mental status exams, risk assessments, and holistic assessments. Emphasis is placed on further developing the psychiatric nursing role as a health care team member.
