Veterinary Surgical Assistance

Lec 001, Lec 001 and Lec 001 selected

This course covers the practical application of surgical nursing, including performing a sterile scrub, gowning and gloving, and assisting during a live animal elective surgery. Additional topics include common veterinary surgeries, suturing and principles of wound management and post-operative care. In addition, this course offers students the opportunity to further develop their anesthesia skills by participating in live animal anesthesia.
