BIOL 4199

Students will use the knowledge and skills gained in BIOL 3180 to design and propose an original research project that will be conducted in BIOL 4299 under the supervision of a KPU faculty advisor with expertise relating to the research topic. Students will be required to perform literature searches on the chosen topic, meet regularly with their advisor(s), develop and present a full research proposal for approval that will form the basis for a final research report in BIOL 4299. Students will also prepare a detailed empirical research plan, which may include conducting pilot work, obtaining necessary ethics approvals where relevant, and developing appropriate budgets and timelines for the proposed research.
