Students will define and pursue an individualized approach to painting in the field of contemporary art. Working in one or more series, they will create paintings based on a chosen theme. They will create multiple iterations of work within these parameters, resulting in a cohesive body of paintings. They will articulate the parameters of their painting process in both verbal and written form. Students will lead discussions and critique the work of contemporary artists, as well as the work of their peers.
