Students will prepare for licensure and practice in Canada by exploring fundamental concepts of nursing in the Canadian setting. They will examine social epidemiology, prevalent health challenges, and the Canadian health care system. Students will explore personal, public and professional values and expectations related to health care. They will develop sensitivity and awareness to cultural influences on health beliefs and practices in relation to Canada's multicultural and Aboriginal populations. Note: Portions of this course may be offered in an online format.
