This course investigates the relationships between media and society, exploring various media forms from traditional and mass media to digital and social media. Students examine how media and cultural industries shape our experience of the world and in turn, how society shapes media. Students explore media’s influence on norms, values, power dynamics, inequalities, identities, and social change.
