HIST 3196EL

Canada Transformed, Since 1896

Lec 12 selected

This course explores how aspects such as nationalism, regionalism, colonialism, ethnicity, class, race, gender, indigeneity and war helped reshape Canada from the still largely rural, male, British-Canadian dominated country it was in 1896 to the diverse, modern, independent one we tend to celebrate today. It does so particularly by engaging with some of the more problematic as well as positive developments that have been part of that history. (lec 2, tut 1) cr 3.
