The Graphic Novel

(3 credits) 3 hours lecture The graphic novel has recently emerged as a unique storytelling medium. This course focuses on both the theoretical bases of sequential art and the graphic novel’s literary and aesthetic properties. Students will draw on a variety of modern and postmodern theories of texts to analyze specific graphic novels.
