(3 Credits) 3 Lecture hours, 3 Laboratory hours This course is designed to provide students an understanding of the principles and concepts of waste management. Topics include: environmental chemistry of hazardous wastes, principles of industrial metabolism, waste disposal, health risks, regulatory aspects of waste management, optimization of materials, and emerging/new concepts in waste management. The laboratory component will involve field trips and dry lab activities.
