PSYC 4415

(3 Credits) 3 Lecture hours This course will provide an overview of trauma psychology, including historical perspectives, the evolving definition of psychological trauma, research methodologies, and diagnosis and treatment of trauma-related psychological disorders. Other topics discussed will include various trauma-related contexts, as well as physiological, cognitive, emotional and social impacts of psychological trauma on individuals and groups. Cultural components of trauma, post-traumatic growth and resilience will also be explored.
