(3 credits) 3 hours lecture (formerly COMM 4860) In this course students will undertake a detailed examination of the principles and applications of the critical elements of sensitive issues management, risk and crisis communications within the context of the public relations responsibilities in organizational communication The course will concentrate on theoretical considerations of such core topics as trust, effective spokespeople during crisis, credible messaging and stakeholder dialogue It will address the fundamentals of issues management, effective implementation of crisis communication strategies and workable risk communication models.
