SLGY 3323

Qualitative Research Methods

Lec 003 selected

(3 Credits) 3 Blended, Lecture, Online hours This course presents an overview of qualitative methods in sociological research. Students will examine the strengths and weaknesses of qualitative methods such as interviewing techniques, fieldwork, and the case study approach, as well as how their lives - as researchers - intersect with and influence the people and situations they study. Note: The sociology discipline met several times and decided to change SLGY 3323 - Qualitative to a 3hour lecture - the same change they did for SLGY 3321 - Quantitative. This change allows instructors the flexibility to teach the course as a 3hr block or as 2X1.5 hours. This will offer more scheduling options for students as well.
