(0 Credits) Practicum Students participate in instructor-led embalming labs within approved and licensed funeral homes. Students who reside outside of Calgary or the surrounding area may complete the course at an Intensive Institute. Note: Students must provide proof of Hepatitis B series (min. of 2/3 of series) vaccination, Tetanus / Dip current within 10 years vaccination, Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid with CPR Level C and WHMIS in order to participate in Funeral Services 20023. Section information text: Mandatory attendance required at scheduled classes: online January 18, 2027, and in-person January 25 & 27, 2027. Order Funeral Services Kit (PPE) for embalming labs through MRU Cougar Campus Store www.mtroyal.ca/bookstore. Program requirements (immunizations, blood tests, WHMIS & Standard First Aid with CPR Level C certifications) to be completed prior to course start date (fees apply). This course has a different start and end date than the regular academic schedule.
