Computer Earth Modelling

Lec 001 and Lab 002 selected

Is an introduction to the techniques of constructing and working with 3D computer models, i.e., a digital twin, of the Earth's subsurface. Techniques covered include the different ways of digitally representing the subsurface (voxellated or object-based), approaches for interpolation and extrapolation from known data points, and methods for automatically generating geological interfaces through a model (""implicit modelling""). Applications covered include resource exploration, CO sequestration, hydrogeology, and geotechnical.
