Mechanical Component Design II is a continuation of the ME 6702 course in analysis and synthesis of machinery, including advanced analysis of machine elements such as clutches, brakes, couplings, journal bearings and gears. Advanced machine design concepts are examined, such as reliability, optimization and techniques for stimulating innovative design. A synthesis project involving the machine elements studied is usually included.
