This course introduces elementary quantum mechanics for chemistry within the framework of chemical systems and spectroscopy. Structure and bonding of atoms and molecules will be introduced with basic quantum mechanical models. Properties of atoms and molecules will be connected to spectroscopy from vibrational, rotational and electronic phenomena, including nuclear magnetic resonance. Credit will be granted for only one of CHEM 331 or CHEM 235.
