PSYC 221
Cognitive Psychology I
Lec 11 and Lec 11 selected
Cognitive psychology involves the scientific study of the mind and mental processes. Cognition refers to the mental processes of perception, attention, memory, language, problem solving, reasoning, and decision making. It is part of cognitive science, an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the human mind. In this course, we start with the processes of perception and attention. We consider the role these mechanisms play in our conscious experience. We will then cover human memory in depth. Credit will be granted for only one of PSYC 221 or PSYC 220.
