Students explore actively listening to various genres and styles of music, perfect for those with no musical background. Students do a light survey of music beginning with the middle-ages and ending with 18th century classicism. Students explore the evolution of western music in a chronological manner and learn to listen for the basic building blocks of these compositions while learning about various genres and ensemble types. This is a fun exploratory course for anyone who loves music and wants to become a better informed listener.
