This course allows beginners to develop cultural knowledge and communication skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in modern standard Spanish. Upon successful completion, students are expected to demonstrate a CEFR A1 level of proficiency. Note: Students who have completed Spanish in Grade 11 or equivalent within the last two years may not take this course for credit unless approved by Modern Languages Section information text: Students with conflicts should consult with Modern Languages.
