Biology and management of common livestock diseases is explored with a focus on prevention and diagnosis. The relationship between nutrition, housing, and welfare on disease susceptibility will be explored. Current and emerging practices for disease treatment will be examined. Theory will be combined with hands-on animal care in the on-campus CEP Demonstration Barn, both during and outside scheduled class time. Note: Field trips outside of class time will be required.
