Organic Chemistry I

This course examines the properties and reactions of alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, alkyl halides, alcohols, and ethers. Emphasis is placed on reaction mechanisms, conformation, stereochemistry, and synthesis. The laboratory provides experience in basic laboratory techniques of chemical synthesis, separation, and analysis. -- Prerequisite -- CHEM 114 -- Corequisite -- None. -- Pre or Corequisite -- None.
