The focus of this course is South Asian literature from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and/or Sri Lanka. Students explore a broad range of relevant historical and sociocultural contexts, as well as such issues as empire, race, religion, caste, gender, nation, and class. -- Prerequisite -- Any two 200-level English courses. -- Corequisite -- None. -- Pre or Corequisite -- None.
