SOC 205
Comparative Societies
Students apply sociological analysis at a global level, making use of comparative methodology to learn more about societies around the world. In doing so, students will reflect upon the relationships between different societies and the global forces that shape them. They will also look at methodological and conceptual debates within the field of comparative sociology, exploring the limits and possibilities of sociological analysis around the world. Through these processes of comparison and critique, students will learn more about their own society and what makes it distinct. -- Prerequisite -- SOC 101. -- Corequisite -- None. -- Pre or Corequisite -- None.
