MUSI 1162

A practical introduction to the perception of musical sound in meaningful patterns for the beginner student. Specifically, to begin to develop the student’s singing and rhythm performance, music transcription skills, and critical listening skills. The focus is on the building blocks of Western music (pitches, intervals, triads, scales, meter, rhythm). Corequisite(s): One of Music 1160 or Music 2260
