This course offers an array of competing constructions of text and culture, drawing on a range of contemporary critical approaches and practices, such as structuralism, poststructuralism, deconstruction, discourse analysis, postmodernism, (post-)Marxism, feminist and gender theory, psychoanalysis, postcolonialism, new historicism, and cultural studies.
