This course will examine the responsibilities of teachers in supporting the mental health of K-12 learners in the contemporary contexts of family, peers, school, work, and the media. Emphasis is placed on challenges such as low self-esteem, difficult emotions, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, bullying, self-injury, and suicide. 3 credit hour.
