This course provides an examination of the foundations of language/literacy processes based on current theories of language acquisition and literacy development. The focus is on six core strands: reading, writing, listening, speaking, viewing and representing, as well as comprehensive approaches to teaching, learning and assessing literacy skills in the Primary/Elementary grades.
