This course will help graduate students develop essential communication skills. Students will engage with the theoretical foundations of communication strategies that apply across professional fields. Course assessment will involve independent development of communications related to their graduate project in the environmental sciences and the peer-review of one another's work. Students will build a communications portfolio directly supporting their graduate project through a series of assignments designed to build confidence and increase focus on communication related aspects of their studies and professional skillset. PREREQUISITE: Admission to a graduate program in ESC or permission of the instructor HOURS OF CREDIT: 3 NOTE: Responsibility for this course rests with the Department of Biology.
