SAN 4420

Social and Cultural Change

Sem 01 selected

This course critically reviews the dominant theoretical frameworks that have shaped interpretations of social and cultural change in the Global South. More recent theories are explored in order to locate change in both colonial and postcolonial contexts. Through ethnographic case studies, the realm of the everyday where change is demanded, crafted, and resisted in the Global South and North, will also be examined. Seminar: Three hours a week
