CS 340E
Foundations of AI and Trust
Lec A selected
What is artificial intelligence, and why should we trust (or distrust) it? This course equips students with the vocabulary and concepts needed to identify and distinguish different AI systems, from machine learning and neural networks to large language models. We examine how these technologies work, their applications, their harms, and where their limits lie. Central to the course is the question of trust: how it is built, broken, and negotiated in our everyday relationships with different AI systems and applications.
