This course examines short stories written by American, Canadian, British and Anglophone authors from the 19th century to the present. Genres to be studied may include adventure, crime, drama, dystopia, fantasy, flash fiction, horror, magic realism, mystery, realist, speculative fiction, and others. Students will be exposed to a variety of approaches to reading texts and develop their skills in critical analysis.
