EU 505
Qualitative Research Methods
This course examines qualitative research design and methods widely used in educational contexts, including interviews, participant observation, and content analysis. A range of interpretative frameworks and inherent assumptions will be considered when reviewing, conducting, and reporting qualitative research. First-year students intending to take EU597 will finalize their research question, develop a purpose statement, and conduct their literature review as part of this course. Second-year students enrolled in EU597 will analyze qualitative data if appropriate. Note: May be substituted with a qualitative methods course from another Laurier graduate program if not offered within the calendar year in the Faculty of Education.
