Teaching in Postsecondary Ed

Lec VH selected

Students in this course will engage with the scholarship of teaching and learning in postsecondary education. Students will explore the ends or purposes of teaching in postsecondary education; the methods and modes of course design, delivery, and evaluation adopted to achieve those ends; and the theories of teaching and learning that inform and differentiate pedagogical decision-making across vocational, professional and disciplinary forms of knowledge. Students will draw upon critically informed perspectives to prepare a teaching philosophy statement, teach mini-lessons, propose appropriate assessments of student learning, and to practice skills in evaluating curricula, lesson plans and teaching.
