HE 606

Health Equity in Health Sci.

Lec A selected

In this course we delve into the critical intersection of health sciences and health equity with populations who experience social exclusion and discrimination. We examine unique health challenges faced by groups including Indigenous peoples, racialized minorities, gender and sexual minorities, socioeconomically disadvantaged individuals, and persons with disabilities. Through an interdisciplinary lens, students explore social factors and how they ‘get under the skin’ to affect human biology. This course integrates current research, case studies, and real-world examples to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted challenges and opportunities in promoting health and well-being among marginalized populations. <br> Registration Notes: Restricted to master’s level students. Must be registered in one of the Health Sciences MSc options (THES or CRWK).
