MUEN 125B
Improv Convergence Ensemble
The Improvisation Convergence Ensemble (ICE) is dedicated to building improvisatory skills in groups of varying sizes, building connections and communication between players. Through the inclusion of guest artists, the ensemble will also explore the creative and improvisatory practices of a variety of different musical and cultural traditions. As the group works towards two concerts per year, they will explore interdisciplinary approaches through the creation and fusion of different art forms such as storytelling, visual art/imagery, and others. Students should demonstrate a willingness to experiment, be open to new sounds and approaches to music making, and to explore diverse music-making in traditional and non-traditional ways. <br> Registration Notes: Course is graded as Pass/Fail. The Faculty reserves the right to assign students to ensembles to balance the preferences of the students and the needs of the ensemble. Auditions may be required for admission or part assignment.
