The third course of a five-course sequence that facilitates the acquisition of Musicianship and Ear Training objectives in diatonic and chromatic music of increased complexity. Melodies, in major and minor modes and in simple and compound meters, will include changing meters and hemiolas. Melodies will feature embellishing tones and tonicizations of related chords and modulations to closely related keys. Rhythmic exercises will include more complex subdivisions and exercises with changing meters within and between simple and compound meters. <br>
