This course will focus on positive themes in Nietzsche’s thought (virtue ethics, becoming what one is, self-overcoming, affirming life), relating his thought to German Romanticism, Lebensphilosophie, and Existentialism, and covering Thus Spoke Zarathustra and some shorter works from his early and later periods.
