An introduction to basic questions in religious studies using selected examples from the Americas. The course concentrates on interactions of people of Indigenous, African and European heritage. It takes up fundamental questions such as: What is Religious Studies? What is race, power, and religion? How have they shaped history and other sources of identity such as tradition, labour, ethnicity and nationality?
